OUR EXPERIENCE
Project Engineering Consultants, Ltd. (PEC) is the recognized leading authority on roundabout design in the Treasure Valley. PEC designed the first arterial roundabout constructed in the Treasure
Valley at the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Amity Avenue in Nampa. This project was honored with the 2007 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award by the Southern Idaho Section of
the American Society of Civil Engineers for its cutting edge design and public participation efforts. PEC's expertise in this area was further recognized when selected by the Ada County Highway
District (ACHD) to develop that agency's siting and design guidelines for roundabouts. That guideline development effort, along with a concept study of the Ada County intersections along Amity Road
was recently performed as part of PEC's Ada County Roundabout Study for ACHD.
PEC has made technical presentations on roundabouts at meetings of the Idaho Chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the Intermountain Section of ITE, as well as at the 2006
Las Vegas Fall Transportation Conference. PEC is establishing itself nationally in this subject area, having recently had three papers accepted for presentation at the TRB National Roundabout
Conference scheduled for May, 2008 in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a triennial conference sponsored by the Roundabouts Task Force of the Transportation Research Board.
